eCommerce security solutions provider nuBridges is reportedly partnering with electronic invoicing solutions company Indicium Solutions to bring integrated electronic invoicing and electronic data exchange (EDI) solutions to companies in Mexico.

Specifically, Indicium has integrated nuBridges' secure technology for EDI over the Internet into its e-factura e-invoicing solution. The result is a new product, NetEDI, which installs locally at the customer site to handle electronic invoicing and EDI transactions. Because the solution uses the Internet for network services, it eliminates the need for third-party value-added networks (VANs) and associated transaction-based costs. Thus it gives companies a much more affordable, yet highly secure, method for conducting transactions and sharing documentation through automated systems.

This is a key opportunity for both companies, as recent regulatory changes now permit the use of electronic invoicing in Mexico. The change in the law means companies which can’t afford to use private, managed networks for secure transactions can now use the public Internet instead, using this combined solution.

"Large buyers in Mexico are the 'hubs' and they have their e-commerce infrastructure in place," said Luis Felipe Sanchez, general manager of Indicium Solutions, in a press release. "The real opportunity lies in the supply chain where vendors are hungry for a cost-effective, easily-implemented solution that will enable them to connect to those hubs to perform both EDI transactions and e-invoicing. NetEDI is a powerful offering for this market."

The solution also lets companies in Mexico deal with one vendor for all their electronic invoicing and EDI transaction needs. With NetEDI, they can effectively and affordably manage their customers' complete order-to-cash lifecycle of purchase order, shipment, delivery, invoicing and payment.

"We are proud to partner with nuBridges to bring their proven technology to supply chain enterprises in Mexico," Sanchez added. "nuBridges has provided the missing piece that enables us to offer a complete e-commerce platform that will enable our customers to do low-cost, secure EDI transactions over the Internet without the need for a third-party VAN. This is a very exciting market opportunity in Mexico."

nuBridges is reportedly branching out to bring its EDI, managed file transfer, B2B gateway and encryption solutions into new geographic markets. Thousands of companies worldwide are already using the company’s solutions to connect electronically with business partners, protect information in transit and at rest, and comply with legislative and industry mandates for data security.

Kim Addington, chief marketing officer at nuBridges, pointed out that Indicium “has relationships with important customers in the region such as Sony, Philips (News - Alert), Black & Decker, Rubbermaid, and Samsung.”

“This new partner is uniquely qualified to introduce the nuBridges brand to Mexico, and our EDI technology is a natural fit with their e-invoicing solution,” she said.
